Everyone's favourite awesome folky foursome were joined by the inimitable Dave Mattacks for this somewhat earlier than usual Spring outing. Magnificent support was provided by the radiant Jenn Butterworth and she gained a legion of enthausiastic fans in the process. Trust is everything in this industry we call 'show' and I feel humbled to always be given completely free rein by Tris and the gents for the duration of my time with them. 'Shoot at will from wherever your feet take you' is the suggestion. which in turn augments that trust in spades as I capture the glances, energy and interaction between the band. Never crowding or sticking in one spot. See, shoot, breathe, enjoy. 

After gigs, audience members have on occasion asked my how I get these pictures if when they saw me I was sitting quietly enjoying the action with them rather than constantly having the camera to my eye. I can only say that reading cues and catching strong images comes from experience, and you don't always need ten shots to tell the story of a moment. Here are a few of my favourites.

Joining these Folk Legends on their Autumn tour, not to mention being given unlimited access, was an absolute privilege. Having been invited, I'm looking forward to joining them again next Spring when the 4 become 5 and the 'tubthumper extraordinaire' (Mr Nicol's words, not mine but they raised a smile) joins proceedings from his home in America. Always a joy.
